Clay barring a 2016
My dealer wants me to give them my Shadow Black GT convertible for half a day so they can detail the outside of the car. He talked about clay barring the car to remove the dirt, grime, etc, etc. I know all about clay barring but my question is why would anyone need to clay bar a vehicle that is only 3 weeks out from being assembled? I'm not sure I'm going to let anyone else touch my GT and I've never had a dealer even suggest doing anything for me after I purchased the car and drove home.
Does anyone feel that this is necessary for a brand new Mustang?

clay bar will remove rail dust, and anything that got on the paint during shipping/transport that doesnt just wash off. do it man. the paint will never be smoother then after a clay bar and a fresh coat of wax.

I couldn't stand waiting for it any longer. One of the pitfalls of doing a special order. As for trusting the dealer, I'm still evaluating them as I've never had the pleasure of working with a dealer who was really there to help me. There could be a first time.

you don't need to clay bar a brand new car.
