Is this a fairly safe tune?
So I just ordered the SCT X4 and ran a 93 octane can tune on my 2016 GT Auto. Only other mod is a catback. The car definitely feels like it pulls harder on the highway.
My question... is this a safe tune for the engine? I'm very new to tuning and not trying to blow anything up.
Also, I've read thread after thread going back and forth about the benefits or lack-there-of to adding a CAI, but which intakes are supported for customizing with the SCT tuner?
Thanks!

If you want to find out whether or not a CAI helps you need to use a dyno:
1. flash back to stock & get a baseline for your car
2. put your flash back in and dyno again
3. install the CAI & reflash for that and dyno again
I'll probably do headers in January. We'll get a baseline for my car and then install, retune and see where we end up.

Haha I've already ordered an AIRAID intake. I liked that it keeps an enclosed airbox. I've had an intake on every car I've owned so I figured why not?
I'm starting to really notice a difference with the 93 tune. God the car pulls hard. lol. I'm gonna save up for a couple pay periods can order some long tubes next.

There was a user, on this forum I believe, that had a worse 1/4 mile time with a CAI + tune vs the stock box + tune. (Small time difference iirc, could've just been a regular variable, which means there's no difference)
Ford did a great job with the stock airbox this go-round. Save your $400+ and just use a tune.

Return the CAI you ordered and get your money back. Put it towards an exhaust or something... Won't get you more power but at least it'll sound glorious!

SCT tunes are conservative as most generic tunes are, and safe to use. Put the Airaid on but don't expect much or anything if you keep the none tune required tube in. You should be able to find if the Airaid CAI is supported from SCT.
The one piece aluminum drive shaft is a great upgrade for the money with no variables. You install it, your rotating mass is reduced which means better 60 foot times and better throttle response.

I'll def check out the drive shaft.
