I just registered cause I saw this post, and I think your thinking process could be wrong in the timeline (even though I am seriously hoping your not), but I recently pulled the trigger and ordered my 2016 GT Premium. I placed the order on Feb 26th, the dealer told me it would be a couple of weeks for the VIN number, cause here at least it gets picked up on Thursday's, so 3/3 it was picked up by ford, I got my VIN 3/25 after I went in and they did a search. My seq# is 316196 and they have me scheduled for the week of 5/23.

mmdpg, I dont know what site you went to on ford, but all the sites I have hit gives me nothing for info, I even called Ford CS and they were of no help when I asked why the build date was so far pushed back.

I cant get any info on the website other then on fords etis site telling me the VIN is valid. Cause I really would hate having to wait till june, since the dealers got my hopes up when he said "its a current year production car, it probably will be ready by middle to end of april". imagine my dismay seeing on the paper the last week of may as a scheduled build date

The dealer sent me a scan of a Ford form that looked like a running log of the order status. The first line showed the order was "clean" and the order date of 3/12. The second line dated 3/17 showed "Scheduled to week (Week of May- 02- 2016)"

i just received my update:

Scheduled to Week (Week -of Apr-25-2016)

so ill probably get it early may...blah!

So I'm assuming if you are in the 316XXX VIN range and put your order in a few days before me then the date shown on my schedule for the week of May 2 is probably accurate. I'd like it sooner obviously but I guess it will be worth getting everything I wanted and nothing I didn't.

that is correct 316XXX; i just hope the incentive increases to like $2500 by that time

That would be nice, at the time of my order there was only $500 customer cash back.

Out of curiosity I looked through inventory on the New England Ford Dealers website. If a car is ordered but not yet at the dealer it is indicated on the listing. Most I found were in the 305800 to 308800 range with dates on the window stickers ranging from 3/16 to 3/23. Interestingly I found one ordered car with a 316042 VIN number with 3/23 on the window sticker. As someone said, the VIN's must not really be all that sequential.

I put mine in 3 weeks before yours and you got may 2nd? Hell I'd kill for that but alas Mines scheduled for 5/23

That would be awesome, I want to see the family and friends discount they had in Nov instead of the paltry $500, but hey $500 is still $500.

I ordered my GT Premium in March of 2015. It took exactly 7 weeks to deliver. It showed up at the dealer on a Friday and I drove home the next day.
