The Mustang doesn't come with a spare tire?

the factory 20 in wheels would make a spare with the same diameter too large to fit in the trunk, ford gives you sealant and an inflator kit instead. bc lets face it who the f wants to put a chitty looking spare on any way, plus technically they are limited to 50 mph for a short distance. so if you have a flat and want to fix it correctly you would head directly to a shop and fix/replace the tire anyway

And how could a 1 ton dualie use a donut?
Anyway, thanks for all the info. I guess I got behind the times.

the determinnig factor on if its a space saver spare it the size of the factory rim, larger rim/tire combos wont fit between the frame rails, so they use smaller spares in place. a dual f350, has a wider frame rail setup, and the tires arent larger for show, its a work truck. so yes they use a full size spare.

Yeah it lasted about a year or two the gov tried to mandate to force people to replace tires instead of riding the full size spare. ( genius idea about reducing abandoned vehicles). The full size was still an option on the trucks and they may now be back to full size spare as standard. But I remember looking a few years ago and every f150 on the lot had a donut for a spare. I thought they were nuts.

At least Ford provides a inflation kit. Corvettes for example, have runflats. I prefer the tire inflation kit over runflats due to price of purchasing new tires. Runflats cost about 20% more than the same brand non-runflat tire.

it's not quite a donut, but it's still a temporary spare. it's large enough in diameter where you can use it on the rear and not worry about your differential.

Not all flats are fixable with fix-a-flat. If all I did was local driving, I wouldn't mind having just the repair kit but I wouldn't want to be out in the middle of nowhere, a hundred mile from the nearest tire store without a spare tire. Unfortunately, if you order the performance package, you can't get the spare tire anyway, at least according to the "build it" section of Ford's web site.
