Default Hesitation and pinging issue

I have had the car a little under 2 months and have about 1100 miles on the clock. I had noticed a slight hesitation under acceleration when the car is cold, but figured it would go away after a break in period. Hesitation still present. Does go away after car has warmed up a bit, but returns if car sits for any length of time. I have also noticed the car tends to ping under heavy acceleration at each shift point. I have used the same gas station since day one and they are rated at top tier and have had no issues with my other vehicles using this gas. Was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me.

Anything done to the new car like a tune? Sounds like the timing is too far advanced or you have heat soak.

What do you consider 'top tier' and what octane you using?

Sorry forgot to mention there is no tune, bone stock. Top tier here in Az is just just a cleaner fuel used at higher end gas stations. Shell, stuff like that. Have been running 87 octane since day one.

That's probably part of your problem there. 87 Octane. While it will run on 87, it probably states premium fuel recommended/suggested (91 octane) in the manual.

At 87 in this heat it's probably tapping out on how much timing the PCM can pull to avoid pinging, that's why you are getting it at WOT.

Run your tank near empty then run a couple of tanks of 89 octane to see if your problem goes away. Don't use octane booster, it's like trying to use a pixie stick to get energy, pure junk.

Book states 87 unless towing then premium. I will run the tank dry of the 87 and run premium in if for a while to see if I notice a difference. Thanks!

Check out this one for top tier gasoline providers.

So have run two full tanks of 91 octane from the same station and still have pinging and some hesitation. Definitely taking it in. Not sure what would be causing it.
