Honestly that lineup seems a bit fishy too, how would they have enough of a power discrepancy to necessitate the 3.5 V6?

If the new 5.8L from the GT500 won't fit in the engine bay, is the twin turbo 3.5 that much smaller?
Precisely!

I was under the impression that we'll be getting a GT350 (Ford produced, not SA) to take the BOSS's slot in the next gen line-up. Which works out fine, seeing as it'll fill the same roll as a road race geared car while allowing Ford to use the Shelby name more. Although I one of those that want them to drop the Shelby line all together. I'd rather see new Cobra and Mach instead of the 500 and 350.

The car in that article is not going to be the 2015 mustang, that image has been floating around for a few yrs now, its an Evos concept...

The new mustang is going to be much much closer to these pics... The new platform is caled S550 and is the same platform that the Ford Falcon GT is built on that is already available in Australia.

The Ecoboost 2.0 (252hp) is has already been confirmed by Ford to be the base engine, the 3.7 V6 (to be boosted up to 315hp) will be kept as well as the 5.0 Coyote (up to 450hp) for the GT.
Shelby has plans to continue building '14 GT500's and is developing a Turbocharged 5.0 for the new '15 GT500's...

Ford is going global and the retro crowd is well....getting old. They want to attract a new generation of mustang drivers, so expect a more modern design...

Wow that concept is ugly, I really hope the updated drive train makes up for it.

That's the Guigairo Mustang concept released in 08/09. The 2015 Must is 100% going to be based off the Evos design.

Ford has always said Its not going to be based off the Evos, but rather Evos inspired... Giving Fords history of past concept models, Im banking on it looking more closely to the Italian design than the Evos in the end.
Ford did the same thing back in the 90's with the Ford Probe, which was supposed to be the new redesigned Mustang, but after a massive writing campaign by the dedicated mustang crowd, the people won.... I sense something similar going on here and thats why we havent seen any confirmed prototypes, just a bunch of potential concepts such as the Guigairo, or Evos....

They didn't really win with the SN95 though, did they?

I mean, yeah, it was RWD, but just like the Fox before it (the Foxbody reminds me so much of a slightly bigger Escort XR3i from Europe), it still looked a bit too much like the rest of the Ford family.

At least with the S197, it doesn't look like the rest of the cars, it looks like a Mustang.

I don't ever recall reading or hearing about sale troubles with the 94-04 Mustangs.

There won't be sales troubles with the new one either, even if it looks like a Fusion coupe.

That's cause you could choose a dying 4th gen Camaro that had been around since the 80's or a dying Dodge Avenger? Was there any other competition at the time?
