Default Horsepower on the 2015 GT

What do you think the base V-8 GT horsepower level will be set at?

Do you think there will be any options to get the V-8 GT to 500 HP???

I understand that all V-8 GT's will have toggle type selections for street, sport, race, etc. Is that true? What is the effect if you drove in race mode all the time?

Do you think additional HP options would be available in year 2 or 3?

At first I heard they would have the current cars horsepower an torque ratings when first released. And, mid model year will get an increase to about 465-475 horsepower. Now I hear it's going to have a modest increase right at release. Don't know how much, though. Ford teased us with the unveiling and now that we know what it looks like they are gonna tease us with the possible horsepower numbers. Only time will tell.

I've only heard the Gt will get 420HP. Following the way ford has been doing things the last revision I would guess any increase in HP will only happen in 2016 or 2017.

2005-2009 one body and drivetrain, 2010 different body same drivetrain, 2011 same body different drivetrain, 2015 different body same drivetrain, 2016+ same body same drivetrain but (cos the it's pretty new) but with better HP/TQ?

I suspect a small power bump over the 2014 gt. After GM benchmarks where the new power levels will be with the 2016 camaro ss, Ford will come back and up the levels of the 2016 or 2017 gt.

The engine is not a carry over from the S197. The revisions done to the Coyote for the S550 should put it in the 440-450 HP range.

Will the 2015 have toggle switches, on all GT's, so that you can select different driving modes? Sport, Race etc.

Do you think selecting Race mode will take the place of a good CAI and professional tune or is it a small tuning change?

I currently have a 2013 GT 6-Sp Man and 3.73 rear with a good CAI and professional tune and it added about 30 HP.

Do you think that Ford will offer add additional options in the 2nd or 3rd year to get the car to about 500HP?

one of the engineers said in a video it has larger valves from the boss heads and forged rods, i'm guessing around 450.

Right, just like how they benchmarked how heavy a muscle car should be.

I hope that's not what they're doing. They really should lead, not follow (and yes, waiting to see what the competition does so you can just one-up them is still following).

Ford said "more than 420" and mentioned the Boss internals. Everything else is internet gossip. My guess is around 440hp, similar to the Boss.
