Guys first of all you are all very helpful. You guys know these mustangs better than the people who build them, and the help your giving me is very much appreciated.

I have yet another question. All of my music is on flash drives that i hook into my usb port on my accord. I put on radio on aux/usb and i am able to listen to all my music without the line in or cds.

I noticed that the 15 comes with two usb ports. Is that for charging phones or can you use those ports to plug in a flashdrive and listen to music? I know it comes with a line in but i prefer not to bring my mp3 player in the car.

yes, you can do that. The USB ports can connect:

- Apple iDevices; iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad
- devices which support Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)
- USB Mass Storage devices like flash drives, USB hard drives, etc.
- a small number of USB wireless broadband modems.

note that if you put your music on a USB flash drive, SYNC wants all of your files to be tagged with at least the Artist, Album Name, Track Name, Track Number, and Genre info to index it properly.

Do i need to upgrade the standard audio system to get the usb ports, or are they included with the standard options with the vehicle?

I don't think you'll be able to get a 2015 Mustang without USB ports. If you get one with the small 4" center display, it'll be "SYNC Gen 1" and have one USB port. if you get one with the 8" MyFord Touch display, it's "SYNC Gen 2" and has two USB ports.

n.b. I'm basing this all on what I see using the build & price tool on the Ford website.

On the 2015 models, both SYNC and SYNC with MyFord Touch will both come with the USB port option. This is a good link to see which features will come with each type of SYNC system.
