Question about Headlights, Turn signals & Foglights.
Greets all,
I had a question and to see if anyone can help me along. I am trying to find out a few things, and doing a search on google isnt getting me much info, probably because the 15-16 stangs are new.
I am particularly interested in knowing what controls the fog lights going off when you signal? Is this a computer controlled setting, or a relay module setting?
Thanks for any help you can give and shed some light.

The reason the car does this is because it's legally required to. FMVSS 108 says that if the turn signal indicator is "optically combined" with a front running light, then the running light must turn off while the turn signal is activated so other drivers can see the turn signal clearly. the only exceptions are the headlamps if they're on low- or high-beam.

I understand that it is a required setting, I wanted to find out if it was difficult to change, DRL's as with most cars I know must shut off, but being that this is a fog light it shouldn't fall into that requirement. Also I am planning to change the location of the signal light to the DRL fins next to the headlight by diode dynamics, at which time should eliminate the requirement for the fog light to turn off if I can have the light there stay as a DRL and not act as a signal.

Does anyone know the as-built line code to change the fog light from shutting off? PM me if you want. As I said doing modifications so the signal light will no longer be in its original location and will be visibly seen without distraction.

Police Dark Mode
If anyone is interested in shutting the interior lights off so they dont turn on when you open the door, or shut the car off, here is the 'AS-Built"code:
Note: This includes the puddle lights.
Your welcome
Code:
726-32-01: 0A01 0100 006C

the lights are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM.) this behavior is programmed into the BCM firmware and can't be changed easily.

In case anyone is interested:

And all it takes is 1 free program, and $80 for the right OBDII scanner.

Right now I have my fog lights working as DRL's along with the LED's, but that will be changed, to only the signal lights being used only as my DRLs with my Fogs and the LEDs only being signal lights.
