Default Two(related??) issues... Axle temp and CEL/limp mode

I have a couple issues. I have gotten the "Axle Over Temperature Reduce Speed" message a couple times and, I have also got the CEL/Wrench pic and it goes into 'limp mode' until you stop and turn off the car. I got all three yesterday, first the axle temp, then while driving to work, it went into limp mode twice while commuting 35 miles to work. Stop, off and on, back to normal.

I took it to the dealership a couple months ago, the first time it hit 'limp mode', they kept it all day, and they said it was a one time fluke, couldn't find anything wrong, and sent me on my way. It's played nice the last month or so but, came back yesterday. I have just over 10k miles on it.

Now, I'm pretty sure the axle is not really overheating. For one, it throws this alarm right when I start the car, second, it's been sitting all night for 14+ hours, and three, it's only 17F outside.

Any ideas what's really going on?
