hey, auto builders, leave the engine bay size alone. its hard enough working on this crap as it is.. leave a little room for the technicians to work on them please..
I really doubt that they are able to put the new front on the old chassis, it would be just like putting the front end from the s197 chassis on the sn-95 chassis.
I'm pretty sure that's the old panels with the new chassis. If you look at the framing of the engine bay in one of the links, it shows the engine bay body rails are totally different. I would bet that the front fenders, bumper and light assemblies could be installed no problem.
If you look close enough, even the front suspension is different, there are three mounting bolts for the front struts vs four and the IRS is attached also. So I would almost bet money that the body panels were just modified to fit the new chassis.
^that makes sense with the front, but what about the rear. Everthing out there is pointing to a smaller, lighter car and if thats the case the 2010-2014 rear quarters wont fit as they will be too big, especially since they make up a structural portion of the car. But I wouldnt put it past Ford to modify the heck out the old panels to hide the the new car in plain view.
Daang. I thought I was going to see new pics. Same as the ones I saw 4 months ago. Well, it's getting closer, Ford has to let some more real info out soon, I hope.
