Right before the new mustang is going to be released, their Big Cheese says "Boy am I tired and want to go lay on a beach somewhere!" Sort of like, leave on a bang, so I'd better leave town before they see what I did to their iconic car and get a short rope.

I don't think so. Maybe he just figures its his time.

But if Ford is looking for a replacement, they need not look any further......I think my thread in this section should be enough of a recruiting tool.

Mays did say that he didn't want to be the guy who screwed up the Mustang, so I don't think he will sabotage our beloved car.

That was really more in reference to the S197 and he was also involved in the Fusion/Mondeo.

He had quite an interesting career though and lead the development of the new Beetle and TT back in the late 90s as well as the Mustang and Ford GT in the noughties(?).

The time between him retiring and the new model being unveiled isn't going to be long enough for them to erase his direction for the car. It'll probably be 'ruined' for those that only really recognize the Mustang as the 60s and S197 models...
