There is a fun factor to being the only person in town owning something.. but if you're right, it ain't no fun when the car is broken somehow. Saving for 2 years and getting a BOSS (if it releases) in 2016 sounds fun.
Yea, most new models have issues in their first year, the 2005 had some issues and the 2011 5.0 had some issues but, nothing major. The 2015 shouldn't be to bad as far as powertrain issues go, it's pretty much a carry-over from the 2014 model although the new IRS has potential to be worry-some and the new electronics usually have some sort of issue but, this wouldn't stop me from getting a 2015...Ford is usually pretty good with their engineering IMO. I have a older C4 Corvette and I go the Vette forums alot and that new C7 is riddled with electronic problems along with some body gremlins....those C7 dudes are screaming at GM over in Chevy land....LOL I wouldn't by a new C7 first year model introduction!

define "refinement." I don't think the new one is that much more "refined" than the current car. The styling is modern, but IMO that's what had to happen. The current car has played out the retro thing; the '66-'70 era was the only one worth a nod back to. No one wants a modern take on a '71-'73, or (gack) a Mustang II.

People groaned about the 2005 when it was introduced, calling it a boat and that it was shaped like a brick. It sold very well.

People complained about the 2010, unanimously focusing on the rear end. It sold pretty well also.

I personally am not a fan of the 2013 front end, reminds me of a charger, but you bet your *** I'd settle for a 2013 Boss!

So, ultimately, I think the nitpicking and "OOOOOH, YOU'RE RUINING THE MUSTANG!!!" will quickly disappear come summer

Well said. It's human nature to dislike change. This will be debated again the next time and every time they revise the Mustang.

Long live the Mustang!

I have to agree with Pascal (even though I'm "young folk"), they have too much tech crap on the interiors. Stereo, power windows and seats....what else do you need!?

And 40ish K for a 2015. That's too rich for my blood. I don't have a garage yet, so my soul would slowly die as I watch from the window as it gets covered in snow/rain/ice and rusts immediately..

About the cost factor, for me, you'd pay 40K for a 2014 GT Premium w/ a bell or two today. If the new base GT is supposed to outperform the current model in pretty much every way, and have better tech than the current model, what's the big gripe about the base being around 40K (which I really doubt).

The Mustang has always been about bang for your buck. I still think you'll get that with the S550. Ford mentioned it was benching against M3s and 911s. Talk about the holy grail in my book.

40K will probably get you all the bells and whistles with the 15 model.

Without discounts you can't get a loaded 2014 GT for $40k. I think a loaded 2015 GT will be closer to $50k

Drove past a new fusion today in Freeway traffic, focused on a side view of the front... made me throw up a little in my mouth. Whatever the rationale, the designers screwed the pooch on the front end of both the Fusion and the new Mustang, IMHO...

if the sight of a vehicle makes you throw up in any amount of any kind, then you might have the weakest stomach i've ever heard of.

as for your opinion, it's whatever. we're all different in preferences. i personally hate the fox body mustangs (YES I SAID IT). hideous cars. i know they're amazing for modding, and making into street monsters, but they just look so awful. that's my opinion, and i frequently feel like i'm in the minority.

i personally like the curves of the 2015, and the interior looks marvelous. i'm also excited about a car that might do something more that go fast in a straight line. is this the talk of a heretic in a mustang forum? DEALWITHIT
