I think I enjoyed the ecoboost more than the GT! *flame suit on*

Ecoboost
I purchased the 2015 EcoBoost in Magnetic Metal this past weekend.
I, like yourself, was not even considering it as an option until I took it for the test drive.
20 minutes of driving, and 10 minutes of paper work later (and 3 hours of waiting on the guy that makes you sign it...) I was driving her home.
I love it. I never considered it as an option until the dealer said "want to try her out anyway?" (as I was getting ready to go for the base V6... Sneaky.. )
She's fast and quick to get there. The interior looks as amazing as the new body does.
There's no doubt that the exhaust is the first thing to get done though..
Plus who doesn't like seeing 32+mpg average cruising down I-45?
I got the upgraded Wheel & Stripe package that comes with nicer rims and a decent set of Pirelli's.
Are you going to get chuckles from the GT V8 5.0 guys when they hear you went with a turbo 4? Possibly.. but it's fun to drive and that's what owning a Mustang has always been about - something Ford didn't get wrong with the EcoBoost.

On my opinion the Ecoboost is not a bad thing, it's a great motor and it does what people expect.
I never drove one yet but I'm sure it will be an experience I have to do; I still love the V8 but just because I dreamt it since I was a child, I like open the hood and watch that huge engine with all its 1, 2, 3,... 7, 8 part!.
I saw on pictures that the hood 'filled' with the ecoboost doesn't have empty spots that let's imagine it has been a mistakenly a bad engine swap but I still have the fear to open the hood and say "what I've done!".
I agree with the better cost, better gas mileage, I think honestly you are right to like ecoboost and I'm wrong to consider the V8 but dreamt it so bad . Choosing a Mustang it's not choosing just a car, it's a style a tradition and even if the 4L was already put under their hood, it's presence on this car can sound 'weird'

I see two huge differences to be considered
1) Cost of adding more power. I believe here is where the GT will shine due to the fact that it is NA and will accept tons of bolt ons, including FI
2) Exhaust acoustics. This is a huge thing for me and would rule out the Ecoboost.
I fully support what Ford did with putting the Ecoboost in - I just wish they would have put in one of the larger models, such as the 3.5 V6. I think it would be a much bigger hit had that been done.

They're not the only ones that have gotten that. Even Ford testing wrung out over 50 RWHP and 40 RWTQ...and they are uber conservative.
Some have gotten higher Like 100 RWHP and 70 RWTQ but backed it down until they test it further.
After that, add a different Downpipe, different valving for the turbo and maybe different injectors and hang on, you'll easily hit triple digit gains on RWHP and possibly on RWTQ. The ecoboost motor is already forged.
You would never get that much power gain on a V8 with anything short of a set of new heads or S/C, or Turbo. By that time you're in at 6K+ vs probably half that on the Ecoboost.
Don't get me wrong, I prefer V8 but, I think a lot of V8 peeps are going to be licking their wounds when they underestimate an Ecoboost on the street.
The sound...I haven't heard one but as long as it doesn't sound like Nissan V6 (370Z/Infiniti), I'll survive.
