Anyone know a good, safe way to remove the chrome trim of the 50th anniversary taillights?
Hey reign,
Great question and unfortunately it's not an easy answer.
We attempted to remove the trim on one of our S550's which came equipped with it and ran into a little road block as they won't budge and in fear of it breaking, we simply taped them off and painted them!
I personally would not recommend ripping them out for fear of damage.
Hope this helps and maybe someone can chime in with some better insight.
From what i have heard, you will just have to purchase new taillights from ford....... i too am wanting to do this but not looking to purchase all new lights!

IF anyone wants to do a local trade please send me a pm. I am located in San Diego, CA. I currently have the 50 years lights and would like the ones with no chrome. Thank you
i can't help you with the local thing but it's not an issue to trade them. Check out the for sale section. I traded a set of head lights last year. You just have to be willing to park the car for a week or pay overnight fees.
