Default Lock for gas cap?

Just picked up a new GT, wondering if anyone has found a way to lock their gas cap yet.

These S550 mustangs are incredible...

Congrats on your new GT, redass02GT! There’s really no need for locking them, as aftermarket funnels will not work with the Easy Fuel system. But, I’m sure they’ll be available one day. Enjoy!

Is there some kind of valve down the tube somewhere that prevent people from putting things into the tank?

Thanks to the way the Easy Fuel system is designed, it’s already difficult to open it and put anything in, redass02gt. There’s another valve down further that will stop some things, but if you make someone angry enough and they want to get in there… they’ll find a way. It’s not easy though.

Ford does sell a "locking fuel plug" for the capless systems.
http://accessories.ford.com/locking-fuel-plug.html
The fitment chart does not list the 2015 Mustang, but in a google search for it, I found a post on another forum, that the member stated it fit.

Here on the west coast gas is expensive and people steal the gas right out of your tank. Ford dropped teh ball by not offering a locking cap option with the capless filler.

Can you validate the fitment of 8U5Z-9C268-B for our 2015's?

I understand, Cobra Drifter. The way the system is set up, you can’t just siphon fuel out of it. I double checked with the site and my parts expert about that Locking Fuel Plug and it’s not meant to fit the 2015 Mustang.

Thanks for checking it out.
The locking cap is a cheap insurance policy against a lot of potential problems. Deysha, if you have a channel to forward suggestions for new parts / accessories for the 2015+, please let them know that several people here are waiting for that part.

Hey Mike,

Send over a PM with your VIN, name, and phone number. I'll document your product feedback in our system.
