Aftermarket Head Unit Install
Hey all, I recently bought a 2015 EcoBoost Mustang with the performance package and while I love just about everything about it, I would really like to replace the base 4.2" screen/radio with full head unit. Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding anything online.
Does anyone know if replacing the base unit is possible and if so, how and with what did you replace it.

That's what I've been noticing as I've looked around. The worst part of it is I'm stationed in Guam so my options are extremely limited and expensive. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into those places you mentioned

Try http://www.crutchfield.com/S-e9CTElT0724/
Tell them all about it, they will be happy to help you! They have about 25 or so phone techs that get payed to help people with their problems.

yep. I'm sure dash kits will show up sooner or later, but for now custom fabrication is your only option. if I remember right, it took about a year before dash kits came out for the 2010+ S197. thing you have to keep in mind is that the center stack panel (behind which sits the radio) is an integrated control panel which has all of the multimedia controls and the climate control module. any company coming up with a replacement panel has to develop a replacement control panel and climate control module. I'm not sure if they have to "reverse engineer" it or if they get any assistance from the car manufacturer.

I'm pretty sure I have seem a dash unit on line some where, that's why I responded to your post. If there is one out Crutchfield should know about it, not everything that is out is on their site with pictures. I have a Pioneer double dim head unit that I have left over from another car and I was looking at a dash unit for it , if I decide to use it. I do have a base 2015 GT.
