s197 GT vs Sti

hehe i was going to say.. with just intake/tune and a 2.4 60ft i got a DA adjusted 13.3 :P with the gears, plates, pulleys.. i should be making a little over 300rwhp (auto drivetrain loss.. ftl) and if I had traction before i probably could have pulled a 13.0.. (bad track prep+noob at track on stock tires, it was a test and tune night) oh.. and my O/D doesn't turn off.. getting that fixed soon..
anyway.. I'm leaning towards him beating me his curb weight should be around 3351 (don't think he has lightened it any) and i should be around 3356.. according to interwebs info..
I'll have to drop the spare, jack, 1/4 tank of gas..do some weight savings.. and if i can get traction.. will still be close hehe... time for more mods

interesting.. would like to hear some of your guys' reasoning behind your thoughts.. mostly because people have said totally different things.
I'll agree with BlueBeast though.. all things being equal it will be close. I think my only hope is that he miss-shifts or somehow screws up.... shifting early/late..
we are at equal weight.. he probably has slightly more hp, and I have better gears..

But from what I've heard about the OP's car. He'll need some tires or he's going to end up in a bush or in a ditch off the side of the road before he manages to get out of 2nd gear. Apparently after the gears and the (fairly minor) recent power mods the car is practically uncontrollable @ WOT on those stock pirellis.
That being the case - the STI will pwn.

I don't agree with this. Only because from a roll the STI's FI is already kicking in and he's ready to go. From a dig, even though he has all wheel drive, he has to get to a certain rpm before that sucker kicks in. As said earlier it will be very close, but I think the STI pulls it out because of AWD from dig and you stock tires from dig, and the FI from a roll. If you take him above 80 or so, you should start catching up to him do to the gears.

I realize this is getting into the splitting hairs territory but where did the weight figures come from Mishri?
My registration certificate states 3483 unladen weight and kbb also shows a figure of higher than what you are quoting for the mustang.
