I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Thompson is at a pretty low elevation.

Was the R/T that ran the mid 12 on DRs/slicks?

I think so but I'm not certain. I know the mustang had drag radials on there. 295mm.

Would anyone in here disagree that if a new R/T was fitted with slicks (or again, DRs), it could run a high 12? Also, how many of you actually looked at the 60 ft times on both cars?

Yeah I did notice.. their 60fts. They are both obviously excellent drivers. The GT owner was definetly not admiting everything he has done to his car. The chally it's hard to tell.. with DRs, modified intake, Shortys and a Tune I have no idea how much rwhp he could be putting down.. I don't think 12.5 is impossible.. just.. he may have done some other tinkering to hammer as much out of that engine as possible that he hasn't mentioned either.. I'd like to see both of them on a dyno test I'm sure the GT has alsod one atleast LCAs who knows what other suspension or weight reduction.

and yes, I think High 12s should be no question for the Challenger R/T 430hp with 3.90 gears with traction should do it.

Except in this case it's an R/T which means 370-375 crank hp unless it's underrated. The SRT8 is the one that gets 425. Also, 10Sec's car doesn't have the shorter 3.90 gears. Just the standard ones, can't remember exactly what they are off the top of my head. Dogs like the 3.31 probably.

I don't necessarily disbelieve 10SecDodge - he is obviously a good driver with a ton of experience. I can understand why people think it's fishy. And in the case of the GT it's pretty obvious some info is being left out.

It's easy to see why it looks fishy... here is his bone stock R/T Pass...

-----------R/T Stock----------Me -----------------SRT8
60':--------1.942------------2.152-----------------1.993
330':-------5.501------------5.746-----------------5.586
1/8:----8.47 @ 80.65----8.646 @ 85.35--------8.470 @ 85.31
1000':-----10.977----------11.112-----------------10.967
1/4:--13.12 @ 108.16---13.193 @ 108.59------13.052 @ 108.86

The desperity between 1/8th mph and 1/4 MPH is what has people confused... not exactly the ET considering the 60ft....

hehe.. i was thinking of the LS3 camaro when i put 430hp in there :P

I think we had discussed 10secdodge's run before in another thread.. some people were thinking the timing equipment at the track is screwy.

Stock R/T gears are 3.73, I believe. And the optional 3.90's are mainly to offset the 20 inch rims that are required with them.

The 6spd manual and 20" wheels comes with the 3.92.

If you get the 6spd manual and the 18" wheels you get 3.73.

The auto is a 3.06.

Vids.

Also, from 10Sec who is having problems posting over here for some reason.
Hey rip....for what it is worth, I ran the 13.12 at Dragway 42. I think the 1/8th mile mph timers are off at 42 because at Thompson is shows I am running 86 in the 1/8th on the motor and 92 ~ 93 on the 100 horse spray.

Also...before anyone swears I was spraying on the NA to NA run, germansheperd looked my car over. The bottle was not in my car when we ran. Thanks for posting that over there...they would not let me in. LOL.
