good luck on those runs man! your gonna have your hands full with the C6 and that 78 is prolly built pretty well for him to be so confident!
So much for me getting to run you when you were stock
when and where are these races going down?

I say you need two more things, a set of drag radial so theres no room for mistakes and take it to the track for a couple passes to get the launch right, I wouldn't wait till may 1st to practice and see where the sweetspots are. Get everything down packed and you will beat them.

Yea Boduke, we kind of missed the boat on the stock runs. The runs with the Vettes will be not this weekend, but the next (May 1st) at the 1/4 mile track in Fayetteville. You ought to make plans to ride down. It'll be an all night test-n-tune.
Dark, I hear ya loud and clear man. DRs would be a nice addition, but I'm a little tapped for cash after today, lol! Don't worry though, I am going this Sunday afternoon to the track in order to get some practice runs in. I'll probably make 10-12 passes through out the entire day. I want to leave some cool down time in between passes to make sure the car isn't falling off due to heat soak. I'm hoping for some low 13 second passes with at least one 12.8-9 glory pass. The thing actually launches really easy. My wife and I went for a little joy ride about 45 minutes ago. We launched it pretty hard from a light. It barked a little, hooked, then squirmed just a hair about half way thru first, spun 2nd for about 3 feet, barked 3rd, but never really got very loose. I figure if its hooking this good on the street, it ought to do well on a sticky track.

Well just by seeing what you ran with with a stock mach with 4.10s and a midpipe, I think you can easily hit 12.7-12.8 at 109mph. Your S197 has a good 20whp advantage on the mach with the same gears, I think even without the drag radials you wont have a problem. Experience is power....... and you have plenty of it.

Stone, I think the reason the S197 launches better is because of improved suspension geometry. You were saying you think the Mach's suspension is stiffer but IMO Mach's are a little soft in the suspension department.

I think you're right about this. There's an article in another recent thread that has some magazine lifting the front wheels off the ground on the stock suspension. There's a night and day difference between the two car's set-ups, no doubt.
