Are mustangs fast?

Although with my car being on the edge of what you call "fast" and "raped ape", a decently built car in the 9s wouldn't bee too much for the street, but one with a ratty suspension nearly falling off, would be.
I'd have to say that my car really doesn't feel as fast as it is, mainly because of the 5000RPM powerband, and the fact that it sticks really well, and everything is probably fortified more than need be.
you think? that's cause of OT

And yeah, everyone from mom's in their minivans, guys in their construction trucks want a piece. Most of the time they just want to nudge you enough to open the car up... they want to HEAR it lol.

My philosophy as well. Who cares what my car is doing over 100mph???? I'm losing my license to drive at that point!!! I'd rather just rape everyone 0-60, look over and smile at the officer.

I put S197s, Machs, STIs, EVOs, LS1 F-Body cars, GTOs, CTS-V, SRT-8s, MS3s, G8s, and many others in the same category. Basically the 13.0-13.9 class. These are quick cars IMO.
Then you have the 14.0-15.0 category. New Edge GTs, Acura TL-S, 345 HP Chargers,
GXP Grand Prix, etc. Not very quick without mods, but far from slow, IMO.
And finally, there is the 15+ second range. SIs, Acura, Hemi rams, true ricers, etc. I consider them slow, although they excel in other areas, they suck at accelerating.
ZR1s, Z06s, Vipers, Veyrons, 911 Turbos, all fall into a fast category to me. They are the ones that make realize just how "not fast" my GT is. With all that said, on a day to day basis, where you see mostly run of the mill cars at a stoplight, 9 times out of ten the Mustang GT will be the fastest car there. Every once in a while you'll end up with a good match while waiting for a light, or cruising around, but its rare relatively speaking.

I always sort of hope a good match will come to me.. but agreed, I'm always next to a Prius and some dude in a Trailblazer (non SS)

BTW 11.07 is awesome.. I just noticed that you run that. It's cool that you dont roll around in huge slicks either.. sorta the whole thing about what makes the ZR1s etc special.. they don't have to have slicks or crazy whatever to do crazy stuff. Props for that.
