If they just put that motor in something lighter and sportier. If it were my company, I'd drop that into a little car, de-tune the hell out of it so it only made like 265bhp, and then come up with the aftermarket parts for it that let you keep your warranty. That way you get.
1) A car that has great potential for those that want it as re-tuning for the power is easy.
2) Profit on the aftermarket, as who doesn't like being able to mod and keep a warranty?
3) Insurance premiums that don't kill you so it will be available to more buyers.
4) A motor that could be used in a few different vehicles.
Just my 2 cents anyway.

Well the bad news is it's still an ugly ass taurus. It'll probably be about as popular as the maruder was. The good news is those turbos. If the ecoboost is a stout powerplant that could be a nasty set-up with a turbo swap.
Why would you compare it to the 2008 model that isn't even AWD or a TTV6? Didn't even bother to scan the article that I posted that said clearly how much the new SHO weighs?
Location: usally a state of confusion. But I live in jersey

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder for sure. Hell if I squint hard enough my car almost looks good to me from certain angles. But back to the SHO I just think it's going to be a hard sell. For 40G you can get a 335i or a challanger/charger SRT-8. A shelby GT500 etc. Lotta nice cars in that price range.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

The SHO is in no way comparable to the 335i or the GT500. This a big car that can fit five adults and their luggage.
It may be a step behind the SRT-8 in straight line performance but it will be a step ahead in all other facets. While we are all focused on every cars get up and go, most consumers are focused on the whole package. With that in mind, I think the car will do well. It's been VERY well received by online blog communities such as Autoblog and Leftlanenews.
I see its direct competitor being the V8 AWD Genesis sedan.
