2010 Camaro 2LT versus 2010 Mustang GT

31k for a 420 hp rear wheel drive V8 muscle car. lol. Don't get me wrong i love Mustangs (obviously i own one) but wouldn't it cost more than 31 grand to buy a new gt, and mod it to give it 400+ hp?
I don't know all the facts about the new Camaro, but it appears to be a better deal overall.

from the way that it sounds, the 5.0 is going to put the mustang right there with the camaro and challenger on the power side of things, and the mustang weighs less...but i have to wonder how the price of the GT will be affected by this? can we really expect 100 more horsepower without a price jump?
I actually wouldn't doubt if the '11 GT is actually faster than the 2SS/SRT8 Challenger. The weight difference between the 2SS and the S197GT is about 550 lbs wet. Add say, 100 lbs for the new Coyote platform, and a 400 HP <3600 lbs car could easily run 12.6-12.7s in the Q/M.

I'm glad gm is being smart and trying to move some cars unlike dodge with the challenger. Dodge had the newest model muscle car for almost 2 years and didn't make enough to keep up with demand. Out here in CA so many people want that car and you have dealers marking them up 10-15k. And it's been out for 2 years. They could have really moved some vehicles, i guess that's why they are doing so poorly.

No, and for two simple reasons.
Guys like the above poster have no idea about anything other than a Ford logo or a Chevy one. That very simple thing determines what they buy. I mean, this guy acts like he had no idea that an f-body made more power than a GT....how long has that been happening?
And then the main cause....teenage girls that LOVE the cuteness of the Mustang.

As far as i know they were available in late 2007 early 2008. I may be wrong. However, my main point is that they could have capitalized on the demand better, and people shouldn't have to pay 15g's over sticker more than a year after release.
