Challenger SRT8 not as fast as you would think
#12
Been seeing a silver challenger srt8 around town and finally got him to play last night. We raced from a roll from 70-130 and he only got me by about 3/4 length. I pulled hard on him from 100-120. I figured as much motor as those cars are carrying he would slaughter me. I was proud of my little stang. Probably why they're going outta business.

My guess is he was an automatic, and by the time his trans downshift you already got the jump. Then gave up.
I'm sorry but a properly driven Challenger SRT8 even with an automatic will beat a S197 Mustang, even one with some boltons.

Actually a stock SRT8 and a bolt on gt are much closer than you might think.
A friend of mine ran a SRT8 Charger (a friend of his actually and it was bone stock). From about 30-110 he had about a 1 car lead. They did this 2 more times with similar results.
From what he told me it was a matter of being able to jump the Charger, since it was an auto. He then would hold the lead, but not being able to pull any further.
He has an 08 gt w/4.10's, and full bolt ons. (he dynoed 307 rwhp).

Really? I've been to like 4 to 5 dyno days around here in MI over the last couple of years, and have seen several 05+ gt's with bolt ons on the dyno. I don't recall ever seeing any over 315 rwhp (doesn't mean there weren't any though).
I'm not doubting 325 rwhp...i just have never seen any close to that out here.

Everyone likes to throw around dyno numbers like they're gospel. Every dyno will read slightly different, and if you don't think that some shops inflate their numbers to get a better tuning reputation, your fooling yourself

Every site you go to will have a street/strip section and there will be tons of stories there about how this Challenger or that Honda pwnd a mustang. Just like here we have story after story about how slow the Challenger is. Or whatever.
