I thought a stall was a modification of some sort for some reason, like I thought I seen them on a Trans Am forum before. You get way too riled up over nothing and get all fancy with your posts. I can only rev like 500 rpms over idle..sucks.

You're correct Skillz. You can get an aftermarket torque converter with a higher stall. It allows the RPMs to flash higher before engaging the trans, hence the terms, 3k stall, or 4k stall. They are a must for any serious drag racer running an automatic. You can buy one that suits your needs, but the higher you go, the more traction becomes an issue unless you have some serious tires. Basically, if you put a 3k RPM stall in your R/T, the engine RPM will flash to 3k (or close to it) when you stomp it from a dig, then once it does that it engages, resulting in a nasty launch. What 99vert was saying is just another use for the word, "stall." "Stalling" is also a technique used, just like he described. Stalling is simply holding the brake while giving the vehicle throttle. It works when done right.
