Default Grand Cherokee SRT8 vs Me

I walked out to go to lunch and just stopped dead in my tracks.. first one I've seen around here. Turns out we are hiring a new sales guy and he has a GCSRT8. Should be talking to him when he starts in a few weeks...going to try and get him to the track and maybe do a few misc runs on video for fun. Should be interesting from a dig..I don't think I will have any issues from a roll though.

Definately going to be a good time!!!

From a dig he will pop on you without question and you won't even catch up until he hits around 70-80mph... those Cherokee SRT-8s are absolutely ridiculous remember they have all that power AND all wheel drive

Should be a nearly neck and neck race. If he knows how to launch well it will be very interesting!

VIDEO CAMERA!

Yeah definately expecting it to yank me off the line hard... the best 60ft I've seen is a 2.09 so I don't expect to be caught up by the 1/8th mile and likely won't even up until near the 1000ft mark (if I'm lucky)..

I will keep you guys up to speed..he has been here at work off and on for a week or two (When I'm in the office here I typically don't see the light of day for 9 hours straight) I'm not here everyday either so that doesn't help... will definately get some side by side pictures up when he stops in again. (They sit impressively low for an SUV)...

That launch is going to be rough man, lol! You'll make up the ground if you guys go into a 1/4 mile run, but it'll still be a tight damn race. I would do a dig and a roll race if I were you, just to experience the two cars strong points as well as weak points.

Yeah I am actually expecting to lose from a dig.. at the track I can make it a close run but if we get lined up somewhere else my bet is I won't get a full 1/4 to make up any ground before he shuts down.

Definately want to illustrate both vehicles strengths and weaknesses... now if I can get a higher quality camera lined up than my cheapo one we would be in business.

Sounds like your expectations are dead on. You probably have no chance from a stop light to stop light run but at the track, You should real him in on the big end of the track and make it extremely close.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Yeah I just looked it up 13.2-13.5 from the rags so you know that's conservative. 0-60mph 4.8-5.1, again from teh rags. Kind of sad that the Jeep will rape the callenger

Do they trap over 105? I've never really seen one at the local strip so IDK.
