Well - yesterday was a great day. I got a chance to ride in my buddies 2008 SLK 55 AMG but it is the Black Series edition supercharger v8 400 horse stock from factory. He bought this car brand new and it only has 5,000 miles on it.
This is a two seater hard top convertible and the best thing I can say other than the look was how smooth this car was on the highway and how effort less the power it had.
Given that for a 100 K it should be really awesome. It had 7 speed automatic with paddle shifters and it moves. I just wish my car/build was done to give him a run maybe in a couple of months more to come.
I don't think I would have kept up with him with my old setup of 400 rwhp especially at high speeds since I only have 4.10s but with my new build and extra horse power I should be able to hopefully get a car length from 30-100.
Just thought I would share as I never rode in a man built car before.

Your upcoming project should handle him fine.... until like you were saying, really high speeds. He has a lot more engineering/gearing/aero, etc such to help him up top.
Badass cars.

A friend of mine has one but no the supercharged one... i didn't like how the tranny shifted (he got an auto, IDK if they come in standard) I came back in and was gonna mention something to him about it, but i just said, thats a nice ride, and he said " I dont like how the tranny shifts" lol
i didn't know they had a black series for the SLK.....small fries anyways step up your game and shoot for the SL65 black series or if you really want to aim high the SL barabus 700bhp and 811tq (detuned) at the most tuning possible it was @ 750bhp and 1000tq! TT 6.3 V12 FTW
