I have a friend with a really nice 2002 Camaro Z28 that runs mid 12's, my question is I am looking to get my hands on a 2004 Cobra in or around October....... What would it take for me to get his a$$?

With the termie? Probably a lot of seat time. Stock a terminator is plenty capable of mid 12s with a great driver, but that means someone who really knows how to drive the car, especially on the strip. An exhaust, intake, tune, and pulley and you have the power to go low 11s.

pulley and tune... should make easy handling of him

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction. 11.867 @ 119.35
You guys sure about that low-mid 12 from a stock termie? I really don't see that happening, but I have been wrong before. I could see a possible mid 12 with tires, but thats just me. In fact, I've only heard of a few glory passes that were high 12s. I'm talking about bone stock cars.
OP, IMO your upcoming SVT will need tires, a tune, and some exhaust work in order to consistently outrun your buddy's mid 12 car. Good luck on getting that Cobra man!!

I was under the impression that they trapped like 115ish, but from the looks of it stock they only good for 110-112, so I'd say some gears are a necessity then.

Stock record is 12.43 @ 113mph by Evan Smith... so expect mid to high 12s with a good driver. I believe one of our own here went 12.6 or 12.7 in his stock termi.
A pully/tune would be enough to take out the Camaro OP.

To give you an idea.....My car with all the mods listed vs my friends stock 03. 40 roll and 2nd gear.
DEAD even through all of 2nd. Shift into 3rd as he pulls away(pretty hard).....this was stock and if my car is capable of high 12's think about what his is(was...he now has a KB 2.8)

I don't doubt the Cobras pull hard from a roll. I've only encountered them at the track, so I can only speculate what happens from a roll judging by their trap speeds. The ones running street rubber always run decent times (usually low 13s) but trap really high which shows their lack of traction from a dig. All the SVTs I've seen running 12s have had DRs or slicks. Definitely not trying to say they can't run 12s stock, I'm fully aware that the car has 12s in it stock, its just rare at the track I visit.
