Default Import gurus inside please

Alright. I'm saposed to race a guy in a 240 when I get my car all tuned in again. Here's some things about my car, '95 gt with prolly right around 375-400 whp. 4.10 gears, 5 speed, radials, weight of about 2800 pounds, 2950 with me. The 240 I'm unsure of the year of. Sr20 swap, stock motor, aggressive cams, gt25 turbo with 20 pounds of boost. Stock weight with limited slip rear, unsure of gearing, 5speed, full bolt ons. About what kinda power will he be making, and should this be a good race or not? Roll and dig races, who's got the advantage? Thanks for any help.

To be honest I'm not to sure about the gt25 with 20 psi, but I do know a kid who ran a sr20det with the stock turbo with full bolt ons and stuff and was at about 275 whp. This was done with about 15-16 psi on the stock turbo, which from what he told me was the absolute limit, but I'm sure with cams, bigger snail, and 20 psi he should at least be in the 350 whp range.

Should be a close race, I expect you guys to be making around the same amount of power with a slight advantage to you. Not sure where you got that 2800lb vehicle weight from. Add 500lbs and that around what you probably weight.

Unless his car has some serious weight reduction.

Yea I am not buying the weight . That would be pretty much a gutted car with a TON of light parts. A 2900# car with 400 rwhp could be in the low 11's/high 10s pretty say.

well i know i took out atleast 300 pounds from my car and I got a stock weight offline of around 3300 so i just guessed. some more info that i got was that it's got 262 cams and is only running around 16 psi of boost. but it does not have a dyno tune or anything. I see this as an easy race for me because he raced my buddies relatively stock wrx and didn't pull away nearly as fast as i did when i had my car with the auto. i guess we'll just have to race and see

What did you remove? Gutted interior? How do you know it was 300lbs?

Well then there is something wrong with his car or he is lying about the sr20det swap. Stock those things make like 205 hp and with rwd it should easily get more hp to the ground than the wrx and weigh less too. With the claimed mods even, with only 16 psi, it should easily be at around 300+ whp.

well the car is untuned. not sure if that makes a big dirrence on there or not. The turbo is a stock s14 sr turbo, not sure if thats the same one i mentioned or not. I don't know anything about these cars, or turbo's. it deff pulled from the wrx but i'm saying it wasn't as fast of a pull away as when I raced him. the wrx had full exhaust when i raced him, and now its got that plus intercooler sprayer and a cobb stage 2 tune.

as far as weight, i weighed most of the things I took out. There was a bunch of crap in the interior, trunks gutted, rear seat area is gutted, took out all air bag components, no a/c or smog, aluminum heads, a lot of random things were takin out of the engine compartment and inside the fenders. and all the bolts on the inside of the car and some inside engine bay have been shaved down. Thats an easy 300lbs over stock if not more.
