Any LS1 F-Body has the upper hand for sure, although I would never put money on the two cars brought up by the OP. Its just way to close. A slight variable in favor of either car could sway the outcome. The 2010 is a mid 13 second car, you guys know what the LS1 does, so its a good race no doubt. It still urks me that GM developed a car back in 1998 that still has the edge against Ford's 2010 S197.

You're exactly right, I just left here and read an article about Ford keeping it under wraps since the 2010 was just released. I should've known that, lol! Personally, I'll be glad to say goodbye to the 4.6. I get tired of having to run 4.10s and rev the hell out of it to make power/acclerate. Hopefully, this new power plant will make some massive low end torque.

Looks like you'll have to buy yourself yet another new vehicle.
...yeah I don't think the new DOHC motor is going to have lots of low end power. Probably more than the outgoing 3V, but its still going to be a motor that likes to rev.

Wheww, I don't think my budget can take anymore new cars, lol! I think I'll be better off paying this one off and getting a blower.

You're probably right. Maybe between the slightly larger displacement and "hopefully" some decent cams will bring that power band down to a lower RPM.
