Seeing how Dodge and GM have made tons of power out of the OHV motors, I'm surprised Ford hasn't jumped ship. I guess they haven't had to based on sells though. Would be nice to see another HO 5.0 pushrod from Ford. Of course, they've dedicated all their R&D to the OHC.

Is the 3.7 an enlarged DOHC 3.5? What kind of power are they expecting?
5.0 DOHC? 400HP?
The SOHC 6.2 going into the F-150 would be a sweet Mach 1 motor. Some larger displacement options would be welcomed.
Yes the Duratec 37 is the next generation of the Duratec 35. Horsepower and torque are both in the mid 270's in current applications.
There are no official numbers out on the 5.0L, but it is rumored that Ford powertrain engineers are saying it will have atleast 400hp. It will be a 4v DOHC headed motor. It's a little late now.
I have not heard anything about the 6.2L finding its way into the Mustang.
There have also been ALOT of rumors that the Ecoboost V6 could find its way into the Mustang in the next few years.

Exactly, maybe if Ford could now go back in time they would not have started making OHC V8's in the early '90's.
if the Ecoboost hits the S197, they better call it the SVO.
and a 6.2 S197 would be sick!!! maybe they could run it under Shelby, call it the GT350 maybe???
+1 on the SVO
That 3.7 sixxer needs a package where you can get GT fog lamps and duals. Standard 3.31's with optional 3.73's and T-Lok... That would make a heck of a base car.
I wonder how much longer they will be using the 3V setup? The 6.2 is a 2V, the 5.0 is a 4V
