Default What mods can i buy to beat my buddy??!

ok, my buddy always brags on hw slow my stang is compared to he's. n its bout time i stump his asz.

(ME) 04 stang 5 speed
Sct 91 tune
No cats on stock H and flows welded in
i run 14.2's @98 with 2.28 60's

(Him) 95' cobra 5 speed
H/C/I
Full suspension
3.73 gear
short shifter
headers- catted x pipe- and 3 chamber flows
only thing he doesn't have is pulleys and TB
last time at the track ran a
13.9 @101 with 2.3 60's

o yeah, he claims it runs high 12's but. it didnt when i saw it run..

Not an expert, but I think High 12s probably pushing it. I'd say high 13s. As I said though, I'm not an expert.

Lots of missing info but... he has better topend. You mentioned nothing about suspension, tires, etc. You can either install some 4.10's, dr's and run him from a dig smoking his ass on the launch or swap your cams to give you more power above 6k rpm. That's the bottom line.

The 95 Cobra has a 5.0 right? Op just needs some 4.10s.

Stone's correct, pardon my assumption of a 4V when I read cobra. If it's a 5L that should get you there. The gears and drag radials, or probably just the gears alone.

And how is he "bragging" how slow you are??? Did he drive your car and proclaim it "slow"?

well i have stock suspension. he has coilovers in the front, springs n the back with lca's and uca's, tubular k member and subfram connectors. So you think a cam swap would give me enough top end?

Well i got a guy who is sellilng me his 3.73's for 40 bucks. and i plan on getting a 75mm tb and plenum by nxt week. shud that work?
