Nah I'm completely serious.
Compared to my 2v, even my friends 5000 lb. Dodge Ram 1500 is easier to drive around town. Just feels like there's not enough power in the low RPM range to move.

Very curious to see if this stuff proves to be true. And also what effect on the pricepoint any of this has. It logically should cause an increase but how much is up in the air.

I'll be jealous of everyone who gets one but I'm one of those freaks who can't stand having to share ownership of my car with a bank. Next year I'll have mine paid off and the last thing I want to do is get into another loan that would take years to pay off. Those of you with more disposable income... I hate you.

There will always be something better on the horizon. Keeping up with the Joneses can end up costing you a lot of money.

what? i love my downlow torque.. i even live in the great white north and drive it in the winter.. you want torque at low rpm to get you moving out of the hole..

im fairly confident the dohc 4v will have a lot of room.. i hope cams wont be too expensive on it but ill guess it will be expensive to do 4 of them..

mods how the engine would react would be completely theortical at this point.. but my guess is towards similiar to 3v..

I'll bet 500rwhp with extensive modding possible but more like 450rwhp with full bolt ons and maybe cams.. F/I?? i'm sure we'll see a lot of BS about crazy stock internal/drivetrain gains.. but who knows.. maybe 550rwhp.. and if the weight is remaining the same (most guesses are as the engine is supposed to be lighter with that new sleeving tech they came out with reducing weight of alluminum engines) that will make it pretty damn fast if you can safely/easily get 550rwhp with f/i on it..

lol lots of down low torque sucks in the winter and you know it. That's why you'll be rolling that company car in the winter and not a RWD mustang.

Haha, your comparing your car to a truck motor? Do you know why a truck would have better low end power then a sports car? Trucks valvetrain is designed for low end power for towing and hauling purposes. PI 2v's make great power down low, it's up top that they are lacking.

Try driving a Civic Si, or S2000 for a few days, then come back and talk about a lack of torque. 2Vs might not be the nastiest engines around, but they do more than hold their own from stoplight to stoplight, imo.

The Coyote is based off the 5.0 Cammer. The thing with the Cammer, is it's rated at 400/400 but in Grand Am WITH a restrictor they put out around 425, so it's more like 450/4??. But they're running special heads, intake, cams, exhaust, ECU etc etc. How much the production 5.0 deviates from the Cammer will to a great deal dictate how well it responds to mods. If they go with a more basic mass produced intake setup, different cams etc etc, then it will have room to pick up gains from the factory. My guess though is there's not going to be much more with bolt ons and a tune. It's going to be a pretty well developed engine. Now, nastier cams and it may become a whole other ball of wax, I'm sure the heads will support a LOT more than what the factory cams will allow.

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.
