Default Anyone raced a 370z yet?

I always figured they were pretty fast cars but after looking at there stats im not at all impressed.
I compared the 2010 z to a 2007 GT and the only advantage the z has is handling.

Z Curb weight is like 30 lbs less then the GT but the gt has 2 rear seats...
Z has 30 more HP but 50 less TQ
Price: 2010 Z $38k 2007 GT is $25 (bought mine for 14k used)
MPG (city): Z 18 GT 17
MPG (highway): Same
top speed: Z 155 GT 150

Just curious of what you guys have encountered. dollar for dollar it looks like a stang is way better. With that big of a price difference you could easily rework the suspension and add a blower.

I think the GT would win for sure with a mod or two. I raced my friends 350 in my 6 with the mods in my sig and it was about even, then again with a 75 shot spray and killlled him. He had exhaust and CAI(maybe a tune idk)

Race on street is usually a 0-60 thing

0-60 4.7 for the 370z
.99 on Skidpad

370 would out gun us if both stock. Maybe putting out less power but it has a much more advanced transmission and the power curve is pretty smooth and instantaneous.

Yuppers and give them an enthusiastic +1 on the high end bigtime. Strong linear pull from that bumblebee V6...

My friends brother tradded in his 07 350z for the new 370z. He let me drive both and the 370 feels like a whole different animal. Sonic, you probably raced an older 350z, because I can run with those things in my Si, the 07 walks away hard.

lol

Does a 2010 370Z really start at 38k?

Oh wait, no it doesn't.

http://www.nissanusa.com/zcoupe/

Was the 38k figure comparably equipped?

A 370Z will put a hurting on a bone stock 2009 or older s197, and has a pretty decent lead on the 2010 GTs as well. Basically, the 370 will run the 1/4 mile in 13.3 at 107, the S197 is a mid to high 13 second car with 103 mph traps. The good thing for us Stang owners is that you can't mod any 350 or 370 effectively. Bolt ons and intakes don't do a damn thing for them. The Mustang on the other hand can be geared, tuned, cammed, bolted to, etc, and responds like a mad man. If you buy a 350 or 370, you better make sure you're satisfied with it as is, cause it isn't going any faster without spray or FI.

13.3@07 being an average time for them?

People have gone faster than that in a bone stock GT.

Thats what I've been seeing from them. As far as a stock S197 goes, they don't trap anywhere near 107 mph stock.
