I think it will be closer than everyone else thinks, unless they run up past 130 mph where aero starts interfering. There is a big weight difference, but the gearing plus the HP difference may help ease that some. I think the 150 shot will make for a steady win for Sub, no doubt in my mind. To sum up my opinion, it will be a good race all motor, but with the edge definitely going towards Mamba. On the spray, its Sub's race.

A lot of people are not really factoring in 1000 lbs of weight. Convert that at a strip, that is a Full Second difference. From the factory, Sub would have trouble hitting bottom 12's, and trapping no more than 110. Mamba should have no problem run mid 12's, trapping around 114-115 with decent driving. Now, add H/C/I to the Vette, + other bolt-ons, which should put him in the area of almost 500WHP, give or take some, and still weighing 1000lbs less.
Race and find out though. Be safe guys.
I say Vette takes it both times, depending on how good of a driver Mamba is.

Yeah and I am guessing that when he tunes it to 91 it will be a lil less power too. Do lower gears have an advantage at all in races? Or is it just for gas milage basically?
I dunno where we could race. Don't have any experiences on Hwy 15. I mainly stick to the 405, 105, 110.
In a roll race higher rear gears may allow you to start in a lower trans gear, which can possibly give you deeper overall gearing, and the initial jump on your opponent. Once you shift, that advantage would probably dissapear. This would be more of a concern for road/circle track racers on a particular track exiting turns etc, I would think though.
I'd give the Mopar the nod on a motor-to-motor 1/8th mile dig, as he has a stall and been known to run DR's. The LS2 can probably cover the rest. Do the SRT's 5 speed autos have tight gearing? Cool runs either way though!

I think it would go the other way. I think the vette would take the 1/8th mile and the heavy charger would have to catch up with the 150 shot.
I think you guys should race 0-130 and let him use the bottle.
