I have 2.73 gears and I have cut a 1.84 60 ft with a 2800 stall (now I'm back with the stocker).
The difference between 3.31 gears and 3.55s is only about a quarter of a point. My wife had a Z28 with 3.23 gears (a full half point more gear than my car) and I could barely tell the difference. And it wasn't any faster at the track than my car or her previous Z28 with 2.73 gears.

OP, wtf is wrong with you? "Lesser GT"? Why would what rear gears your car has make you feel like your car is inferior? 3.31s have a place as they're fine for highway driving and fuel economy, and most average cars on the road aren't going to be able to compete with the GT anyway. If you feel like the acceleration isn't strong enough, and you're willing to sacrifice a few MPGs on the highway, then go for 3.90s, 4.10s, or 4.30s, depending on how much gear you want. IMO, I've driven an S197 GT with only axlebacks and 4.10s and it felt plenty quick for a basically stock car. I just don't get why you'd think less of your car, especially based on a part that can so easily be changed, again, just my opinion.

I had to have the trans rebuilt (173k miles) and they wouldn't honor their warranty unless they junked the converter that was in there (something about possible metal fragments or something). They put a stocker in. When the warranty is up I may go to another Yank or maybe a Vigilante.
