Default 12.2@111 LS1/Z28

A dude at my school has a LS1/Z28, not sure which year exactly- but he has bolts ons only and on DRs run a 12.2@111 w/1.8 60ft. auto/tune/stalled (3200) on MT DRs. stock gears.

There is this S197 running 12.7@114 with bolt ons/DR, 5 speed.

Am I missing something?

Shouldn't the GT be running a little bit quicker times and shouldn't the Z be trapping higher??

The Z dude is trying to go NA 11.9@??? next summer... gotta get my SC kit ready lol..

The Z28 sounds about right, but the trap speed is a bit high for the S197 with just bolt ons.

check it out at 1:00..

not sure what he's got actually. I just assumed it's bolt ons...

I thought 111 is a low trap for such a decent time @12.2 on the Z28...

With the stock converter my car runs 12.7-12.9 @ 108-109 (almost 110), depending on weather. If I were to get a fairly aggressive stall then I could theoretically drop up to a half second from my ET while gaining little or maybe even nothing on the trap speed, depending on how efficient the converter is on the top end.

What track is that? Looks like it would be at a high altitude.

If that's Alaska Raceway Park near Palmer then the elevation is listed at pretty close to sea level, 75 feet. By comparison my home track (Gateway International Raceway) is just over 400 feet. That is beautiful scenery to look at while racing BTW, we just have the Gateway Arch.

JD1969 ran what an 11.5 @116 with a 1.45 60ft with 3k into his SS...more than doable.
should the S197 win....maybe, but then it depends on driver once the power is there, not to mention he is heavier

That S197 spun really bad. That would explain his high trap, not so good ET.

I have my timeslip here from when I ran JD1969; he ran 12.09 @ 109.31 on a 1.61 60 ft.

that is actually (AK raceway), the scenery IS amazing. I wish a camera could capture how enourmous those mountains are in the back drop to the track.. on a sunny day, it's Amazing.

How much much power does a bolt on LS1 make exactly? The dude said just bolt ons, stock drive shaft, cams , stock underdrive pullies. That's crazy if he's running those times with just a few mods.. I'd hate to see what it does with some more extensive mods. He said he wants to keep it driveable... smart guy. He's in the "Chevy" program at our school.. those "Chevy" guys lol..
