about 3160lbs-3280lbs. depending on what the original engine was an all iron sbc is only going to be about 60-180lbs heavier than the stock engine (2.5L, 2.2L, 2.8L, 4.3L)

A properly done SBC S10 swap should be a low 11/high 10 truck. The small block will only weigh 50-100lbs more than the stock engine. I would assume that if the guy has around 400 hp he has removed all the emission crap etc, so the weight will be about even with a stocker, assuming he did not guy the rest of the truck (which is what I would do). Lets use my old Camaro as an example because it weighed 3300 lbs (race weight) and made 393 hp. It ran consistent 11.5's. Done right a SBC s10 is no joke.

400hp in a 3200-3300lb truck WITH great traction is probably a mid to low 11 truck. on street tires probably a mid 12 truck.

my car was a tick under 3300lbs, with over 400RWHP (not just flywheel) and in 3000DA it would trap almost 120

My guess is the S-10 probably doesn't make 400hp but even 250hp should be able to handle you pretty easily. Still, who knows how an old S-10 with a shade-tree mechanic engine swap will run. Mine as well run him and see.

How do you know it is a "shade tree" swap. Maybe the guy is really good? Lots of really fast cars are built by average Joe's in their garage. Not all of us have to pay someone else to build their cars.

This is very true but for every guy who knows what they're doing, you have a handful of guys who build junk and lie about its capabilities. Also, "shade tree" mean built by an average Joe in his garage, it's not a negative term. My point was, it might not actually make the power the owner claims. I think we can all agree on that.

Very true, it might not, but it also might be 100% legit. I guess I am jaded because around here there are a bunch of cars that are done right, sure we have our share of hacks, but they tend not to run their mouths. I just know how I would build an S10 swapped SBC, I see one that I think about picking up everyday, it's been parked for a year or two now and the owner has lost interest....

Ya but the way it seems is that the OP is probably in high school and arguing with a kid in high school, meaning the S10 might just have an old 350 swapped in, and that's all. I mean I hope the op is high school still if he seriously thought he'd have a chance against a 400hp s10.
