Default S/c'd non pi 4.6...how fast.

96 gt vert 5 speed. All I know about it is that it's got a vortech supercharger and exhaust. The guy wouldn't pop the hood. We messed around a couple times from a dig and I'd spin and stay about a car back, and everytime around 40mph he'd hit the brakes just as I was coming up on him. I just wondered what this car would run in the 1/4 approximitely. He had 555rs and hooked up better than me. I was gonna throw my slicks on but he said he didn't wanna race anymore. He really pissed me off and now I'm going to hunt him down for a good race.

NPI 2v's have really strict heads.....but it is not uncommon for people to swap PI heads on to their cars.

If it is just an NPI, I bet he let off because his car sucks *** on the top end.

i asked him what was done he said stock motor with a vortech. so i'm assuming it still had the non pi heads. plus once i got traction i would start catching up rather quickly, and i'd assume i wouldn't be able to catch up to a vortech pi headed 4.6.

Hm....well, you probably won't catch a supercharged PI 2v at least that quickly. If you almost ran it down once you got traction at only about 40 mph, then that's kind of lame lol.

I know a guy who had a red (maroon) GT W/ that exact set up (sold for a 6.0L GTO) and it ran high 12's to some times low 13s.

Ive seen a 3.90 + Longtube + Cam + Upper Intake + Usual Bolt-Ons car with sock non-PI heads run a 12.9 without a blower..
I could see a stock long block car going 12's pretty easy if the guy new what he was doing.
Typical car is going to be more like mid-13's.

Opps! Misread the date.
