Im wondering what you guys are thinking on this match up? They are pretty much the same car as far as weight to HP ratio. I was giving LS2 GTOs fits with my 06 GT but ocassionaly I would encounter one with a driver mod & the shoe was on the other foot(Note: thats when I bought my zex kit)! . I would think this new 5.0 will be the victor. So, what do you guys think?

I'd say the new 5.0. I recently raced my buddy's bone stock 06 6-speed GTO and we were dead from a roll. I didn't spray of course.

Something tells me that wouldn't happen with the new 5.0 stang.

There both on the list that can't lose..5.0, GTO, SS/TC,etc so it has to be a tie.

In Mustang Forums the 5.0 will win. In the GTO Forums, the Goat will win.

I like the GTO better (just my preference), but the 5.0 will walk all over the LS2. GTOs are low 13, once in a blue moon very high 12 second cars, that trap 108-109. The 5.0 has proven to be a solid 12 second car with traps that are 2-3 mph higher than the Goats.

I know that this is off the topic but isn't the LS2 GTO a pretty good race for a 03 Cobra (stock)???

A 5.0 should win. Because an LS2 GTO is about dead nuts with an LS1 Fbody, and according to Mustang guys, the LS1 Fbody can't come anywhere near the 5.0.
