My understanding was the engineers "ASSUMED" it would run 12.4s

I'm always HIGHLY skeptical of any factory claim of performance where it wasn't observed by outside parties.

You're probably correct. I'll check that source again.

12.4@110 was from Mishri, I don`t really know what they will do especially if someone put an actual set of rear tires on one. I test drove a 6.1 auto and it was easy to create much spin with only moderate throttle application.

Full sized car? Because at 198 inches long and 74 wide it is bigger than a Chrysler 300 and about the same as many other family sedans,

I'd personally love to see one launch on slicks. I'm curious to see how it handles that much weight with traction at those power levels.

I got the 12.4@110 from youtube arguements, saying SRT ran it (which means it was southern refrigerated transport, they know how to drive heavy stuff) or maybe swift racing technologies (though they usually stick to hondas, toyotas, and mitsubishi)

so yes, he probably meant engineer bench racing

apparently insideline got 12.6@111mph out of an automatic.

I argue with lostboyz about the challenger's mpgs because we are just comparing EPA mpgs, maybe if we find what mpg camaro SS and 5.0's owners are getting driving down the highway at 60mph irl then we can use your own reported mpg.

i've seen a lot of benchracing and chatter on all of the camaro and challenger forums on this thing. Some people are making crazy claims like it will trap 120mph and it is underrated to the point it is actually 550hp, GT500 style! (good thing GT500 is sitll 300 lbs lighter, and only 2,000 more)

From the reviews i've seen the stock tires offer no grip whatsoever. (we might be seeing a lot of fastest stock claims running aftermarket tires, ive already seen a few of those for the 5.0 12.4 stock 5.0 ZOMG)

Can someone fill me in on the 'high tech' that dodge is using over chevy? I've seen it mentioned twice now.

compare to 5.0

#1 it's 29,900
#2 it's 17 city 26 hwy

on to 1/4 miles
car and driver 13.2@109
motortrend 12.8@110
insideline 13.0@110

oh, and streetfire has a vid of a stock 2011 srt8 going 12.4@110.

i'm not sure what the fastest 5.0 time is.. i'd expect around a 12.6-12.5

I really should compare the srt8 to the gt500 since they are priced closer to each other.. but then it's just ugly
