600HP GT500 w/ DR's
A secret lies ahead in my future for some of you that don't know already. I won't tell you what kind of car I'm getting next year but I do have a question.
The 2013 GT500's are supposed to get upped to a 5.8 with a slightly better blower, and make roughly 600-620hp from the factory.
As they are already traction limited to mid 12's, what do some of you expect a '13 to achieve with a set of DR's and a 1.7 range 60' with decent driving?
Again, I'm not going to tell anyone what I'm getting next year, so don't ask.

I forgot to mention I was asking about this in a 3.55 geared car w/o the Performance Package.
I'm not telling what I'm getting.

Might, but as soon as he he touches the throttle that PD blower is going to be right in the middle of the torque curve assuming he is close to the rev limiter between shifts, which a driver would have to do in order to get a car of that weight (assuming 3500-3800 lb curb weight) with 600 hp to run low 11s. I'm sure it can be done on DRs on a really good track, but unless Ford does a lot in the weight department as well as weight distribution, I think its going to be a tricky car to pilot.

No doubt it will be a fun one, and impressive. Ford has been very good at majorly improving all of the Mustangs recently, so hopefully they will continue the upgrades and get the power to the ground in 2013.

If ford finds a way of keeping the curb weight the same as the current gt500 then I can see a 10 sec pass on a tire. The 2011s are already rurring 11.3s stock on a tire so I expect a new 5.8 motor w/ a new motor to be considerably faster.
