Not sure how well you guys know gtp's but theres one in town talking trash. He's got a stock shortblock, nic cam, 1.9 rockers, genV blower, intercooled, headers/cutout in the downpipe, built trans/dr's. 2.5 pulley, maybe others that i'm forgetting. My buddy had a similar set up and ran a 12.4@112. he had a 2.8 pulley tho, but according to him anything smaller than the 2.8 and you're blowing hot air and making less power. If anyone knows some about the l67's let me know what my chances are. I would be spraying 125 shot and this would be a dig race only, no rolls.

If they are anything like the SS/SC (assuming the heat is being dealt with) after you get so small going smaller really just adds mostly tq.

i believe they are. I know my buddy with the similar build, i raced him with my '95 when i had it, and he did better against me with the 2.8 pulley then he did with a 2.6.

Well considering that you just did a 12.1 @ 111 with a 20 mph headwind, i'm thinking you'll have this one.

you probably have it in the bag... I ran a cammed GTP on metro parkway running a pulley swap and full bolt on's (no built trans, DR's or intercooler though) and my GTO got out a half car off the line throgh first, then through second I was up a car and a half... then I just started throwing lengths on him once third kicked in, and I was a low 13 second car with 2 days behind the wheel of the GTO at the time)

the GTP boys say all these mods and act super cocky but at the end of the day 98% of them are slow as all hell... takes a big bank account to make them hang with the new gen muscle cars or something like what you have

my rule of thumb on GTP's when I'm in my GTO is simple... if I hear an eaton, I might as well not even waste my gas... if I hear a spool then it will probably be interesting

With that tiny pulley, he's going to be all low end and one heat soaked mutterfukr unless he's running meth. Don't get me wrong, he's probably fast.... but he should highly consider running a 2.7 or 2.8. On the spray you should have him from a dig, but NA he will pull ya pretty good. If you were to spray from a roll run, I'd call it a close damn race.

my one buddies is a fast gtp, he kept right up with my '95 the last time i raced him and now he's got a 100 shot on top of it. but this guy knows the guy that's talking smack and says that the guys build is not thought thru very well, he said the rockers with that cam dont do a thing, and the small pulley hurts it.

this is my '95 vs my buddies gtp, similar builds only was e85 tunes, correct size pulley(2.8) and a larger intercooler. clearly he does very well against a 116 car, which is the reason i'll race this guy from a dig only.
