Default setting up a race this weekend, cam'd lt1

A guy from my local forum called me out a while back, but he lives over an hour away so we never got a good chance to line 'em up. well this weekend i'm heading over to his neck of the woods for the day, so we're gonna do what we can to get this done.

He has a '97 camaro, mods he gave me are: full bolt ons, ported heads, ported intake, camd(234/242 575"/595 112LSA) and gears. not sure on what gears tho. also i am fairly certain it's a 6speed. we're gonna do a low roll, around 20. I'll be spraying 125 shot. I'm not really sure what to expect out of his car but it sounds really good lol. anyone that knows anything about these cars what should i expect? i'd imagine it'll be a pretty good race imo.

That's an awful big cam. The weak point with the LT1's were the heads. I believe stock they were 10.0/10.5:1 compression motors with 58cc heads (I think). In the upper rpm, they just don't flow well.

Should be interesting nonetheless. Let us know how it turns out. :P

Interesting... depends on how well its ported. If its a good port, I'd say he's good for mid 12s easy enough, 110+. I gotta give the nod to you though. Let us know man, this outta be good.

350rwhp on stock heads... Doesn't matter which cam...I've heard of 360 but that's rare. About 115mph traps when setup right. If the heads were touched it's a different ball game. Let us know what happens.

With a good port job on the heads and intake, he should be over 400rwhp with a 6speed. Most likely around 420rwhp, give or take. Looking at your trap on the juice, I'd guess he'll probably get you by a couple cars from a low roll, if he has traction.
