Default 10s on stock block or rod through stock block?

What is everyone's opinion on going for 10s on the stock bottom end of this 2v 4.6?

Is it gonna blow before I get there ? lol

Roll of the dice? I know 10s have been done on stock bottom end 3v cars before. Just read of one yesterday. He got 3 attempts in before it blew up.

How does the 2v setup compare to the 3v? Apologies in advance if you feel this is directing away from the question in the OP.

Lol, 2v has similar bottom end, just supposed to handle less power since the top end doesnt flow as well as the 3v.

In that case anything over 500@ the crank and you are pushing it.

That said I know of at least one stock motor that lived quite a long time and with track use at 570@ the tire. It never blew, the owner put in a built SB before that happened.

Nothing lasts forever....Gives you an excuse to rebuild it right when it does blow. I'm going to shoot for 10s on the stock 5.0 bottom end in this car.

Depends on the set up. if you're staying s/c then I say nuh uh. she's gonna blow. but if you swap to a turbo or even nitrous then it's doable. there's a couple people I know of (one turbo one nitrous) on stock bottom end that are really close to 10's.

I've seen the random video on youtube where the guy claims 450rwhp+ from his 2V, stock bottom end (maybe stock heads/cams too)...but then a few months later is the comment in the comments section about how it blew up.

If you are adding a lot more power then I think its going to split.

I wouldn't go there, Justin. Not unless you're planning on building the engine anyway. JMO.
