Personally even though your car is capable of far more, I do not think thats an embarrassing run.....me running slower than I ran before the blower is however embarrassing lol

4.10s only make street tires worse at the track.. sure, it seems fast on the street from a 20 roll, but you have to remember that you have traction at that point lol

I'd run 13.4s @111mph all day on street tires rofl

Only til I let off COMPLETELY between shifts to let the tires catch, did I manage 12.8 (street tires)

Went out for a drive today. Punched it in second and spun about the whole gear....wasnt expecting that. Not sure i know the car's limit of traction as the loss of traction doesnt seem too predictable.. Tried to do a launch in first and in order not to spin i must admit it was pretty weak and wound up being a granny shift into second.....good from there though

Also did a roll from first about 50% throttle and shifted into second at 5k and although it's just barely tapping the launch's potential it still threw me back pretty hard

Now imagine trying to do that at the tree (drag strip)

First time I punched it like that at the track and my car went sideways and it two 360's landing backwards around the 8th mile point. Lesson learned..

Get tires! lol

With drag tires (MT ET Streets) and 4.10s I bet you'd be in the mid if not low 12's especially with a manual trans.

Read a back issue of MMFF and they tested the Roush drag pak. On street tires, they had best resultant with a 2200rpm launch although this was not exactly comparable because that car makes les power and has drag susp. The 4.10s it has help give me an idea though. Also that was weather in the 60s and Fri will be in the 50s

Suspension > drag tires. A lot of people wonder why they are still spinning on MTs and 555Rs. You can usually do more with full suspension on street tires than you can on OEM suspension and DRs.

I say 12.6@113mph. Corrected 11.3@126mph.

Lol that's some correction. That must be correcting me to hell.

So, for Fri I'm still on. Temps look to be in the 50s when I run. Do you guys think that's okay for the street tires? I'm talking safety wise not looking for a good ET. Also, i realize there are many variables. I just don't want the car breaking loose at high speed and being uncontrollable as if I'm on ice. I remember my buddy's stock Z would roast his summer tires in the winter.

Anyway, I'm looking to spin them hard before I stage and leave off soft at a low rpm. I will granny shift into second accordingly. I think once I'm in second ill be able to go 75% throttle and roll into WOT. I figure once in third I'm good for the rest of the run.

Any comments on this plan? I only get 3 runs so I can't really experiment and have to make them count. I could also use tracbite if its certain that it will help and not harm (eg become greasy or not work in cold). I will be running the car fully warmed up and will not be using a cool down. I think that will benefit on a few levels.

Comments? I would love a 12 second slip but I'm really after trap. I've seen a wide range of trap speeds on M90 cars I'd like to be at 110+
