he has a 71 elcamino, it has a rebuilt stock bottom end, 280, 480 hyd cam, alum heads( cheap ones) headers, crappy exhaust,stock gears, 350 th tranny with a 2400 stall, 650 double pumper, rpm ebelbrock intake, roller rockers. stock weight. Think i can beat him?

When you say 280? Do you mean 283CID? If Yes you'll win very easily. I had a 396 powered El Camino back in the day that was fairly quick. A modded 396 might give you a good run.

its a 350, not even bored. the 280 is the duration on the cam and it has a 480 lift.

You should have no problem and if he doesn't have sticky tires he will never hook with no weight over the rear end.

Well as soon as he gets his head out of his girls a$$ long enough ( lol ) we are going to line them up. I will post the results as soon as this happens.

you should run away from him pretty easy imo. I raced an older chevelle from a roll that claimed to have a 383 with crappy exhaust, and somewhat lopey cam, and i pulled on him with my auto with the stock stall. you should take this pretty easily.
