Default SCT Tuner Tips, upcoming race...

So I'm pretty sure on Wednesday I'll be racing this Titan again. He installed 3/73's and a tru-trac. I'm looking for a little more out of my SCT Tuner that I have. Besides tuning my car for a higher octane, what else can I do with it? I know it sounds noobish of me but I don't really have an idea on what to do wit it. I bought it originally because my speedometer was off due to my 3.73's. LMK guys, I need to bring on home for the home team again.

Do you have a 91/93 octane tune on it already? if so i dunno, you might be able to get away with adding another degree or 2 of timing but i dunno if it'd be totally safe.

You probably would only be able to add a few degrees of timing with the tuner...they dont give you much adjustment cause they want it to be safe.

Id add all the timing you can which is probably 2-4 degrees and throw some good gas in it.

I guess 93 octane and some octane booster if you cant get anything higher.

But make sure you pull the timing out after your done....detonation kills pistons

just race him as you are unless you are actually going to do something worthwhile. Adding a few degrees of timing could not only decrease performance but it could hurt your engine as well. I would at least throw a few datalogs at a good tuner and get some wisdom before you decide to make the change.

Gathering what you guys have said I'll most likely run as I sit now, except I'll load up my octane tune to 91 (damn ca) I have my 87 loaded as of now cuz of the gas prices. I'm almost out of fuel so I'll be switching soon. I'll try and borrow my friends go pro camera and I'll get some vids soon.
