I don't know what's going to happen with the converter. My builder says the converter is perfect for this set-up and I can re-stall it once it gets more power. He says it'll probably be sluggish off the bottle? We'll see in the next month or two.

yea matts car was like that, he had like a 4000 stall, and it would be sluggish on motor, run 12.3's and 12.5's depending on how you launched it, off idle, or on the brakes
with a 150 shot it ran 10.7 first pass, and picked up both the tires without the transbrake, and off idle

Worked on a little weight reduction today. Installed Kirkey pro street seats. The things weigh less than 30 pounds apiece including the Holcomb motor sports steel mounting brackets. Also deleted the rear seat and removed the front sway bar. All in all an easy hundred pounds of weight out of the car. Also got a pair of Weld Alumastars. 3.5X15 for the front. Mounted a set of nang kang 165R-15s. The wheel and tire combo remover about 80 pounds of unsprung weight off the front of the car.

Time to up date this thread again. The old 5.0 did good running 10.57@123.90 before the track staff asked me to leave for not having a roll bar. So now we know what the old engine will run we can sell it and move on! I Ordered a 363 fully forged dart motor from fordstrokers. Probably wont be done for a few months (Fall). Also ordered a sexy new fuel system to feed the new motor. 10 gallon aluminum fuel cell with other goodies. Ill post pics in a few days when it comes in and its installed. Looking fordard to some 9 sec. Passss this fall. Lotta work to do between now and then.
