My chance to race a 5.0?

My chance to race a 5.0?
So I was driving the vette, heading home from the grocery store (yes it actually is my grocery getter, lol) and just pulled into the left turn lane to get onto the main road back home. I see a 2010+ style mustang with dual exhaust tips a few cars ahead of me also turning left. We turn left on the main road which is a 4 lane highway with a large median and 55 speed limit. After getting out from behind slow traffic I have to play catch up and finally get up next to the mustang.
Right as I pull up along side the light a few hundred feet in front of us goes yellow and we both stop as the traffic in front of us goes though the light. It doesn't get set up much better than this.
I can't see the mustang very well, it was a blue GT with Texas plates. I saw the driver had their window half way down so I rolled down my passenger side window and asked them if it was a 5.0. Too my surprise it was actually a cute blonde girl who was driving. She rolls her window all the way down and said no its a 2010 4.6 and she got the "red headed step child year" lol.
We talked for just a minute and before the light turned green she said "I'm not going to race you so don't ask." Just then the light went green so I smiled and said take care. My hunt for a 5.0 continues. Pretty cute girl though, wish I could have talked to her longer.
To make this relevant to the section and on topic, how do you guys think I would do against a bolt on 5.0?

I just ordered new tires for my Camaro and as soon as I get them I'm going to burn off the rubber on my 17" Zr-1 wheels and put 315 hoosiers on them. Then I can justify a long drive to a 1/4 mile track.

it's easy to tell the difference, the 4.6's say GT on the fender, the 5.0's say 5.0. lol. but anyways you've got similar hp to a bolt on 5.0 with prolly atleast 50 more ft lbs. however your car is obviously lighter, most likely geared better and more aerodynamic. i'd say you wouldn't run away from a 5.0 but you would pull on him from any speed.

Didn't the C5 Z06s trap 116-118mph stock? I know they had some issues hooking, hence why they ran mid 12s average. Sorry, I just don't see a 3600lb car with the frontal area of Rosie O'Donnell's *** beating a car that's making roughly the same power, weighs 300+ lbs. less, and has a better CD. I'd say driver's being equal, Z06 wins every time. Bolted, depending on what's done, the 5.0 might hang in the lower speeds, but at triple digits, I'd think the Z would still win.

I don't see a bolt-on 5.0 keeping up with Stig at all. Like Deki said, a stock Z06 should trap 115+. I think a full-bolt-on/tune 5.0 and a stock C5Z would be a better race with the 5.0 pulling ahead, but not mod for mod.

Texas Speed long tube headers, 3" O/R X-pipe, Borla Exhaust and K&N intake with stock tune. Dyno numbers in sig

Thanks for the replies guys. Here is the aforementioned burning of tires:

I'd agree with stone, it'll take a full bolt-on 5.0 to give you a decent race, or atleast the mods I have now. I think in one of my other threads we discussed the c5z06 at my track, a couple of mods, can't remember what he had intake and tune and mufflers if i remember right, but he ran a 13.6@105mph here. compared to my 13.2@108 cai+tune+drag radial run, and now i ran 12.6@112mph. I think we'd be a pretty good match up.
fyi, many people are putting down 405whp and 385wtq with just a cai+tune
